The toxin was coursing through his veins. Poisoning him, twisting him, killing him.

The pain, oh, god, the pain. Dying, dying, too much, far too much.
Voices twisting in his head, taunting him, urging him to LIVE! He doesn’t want to live, because it hurts too much.

Surrender to the end, peace will be yours.

Mocking laughter blares in his ears, drowning out the voices of those he loves. Echoes of the lives that have gone before distorted with those he has not yet lived. Still that mocking laughter sounds far too loud in his mind.

He chooses to live.
