The diamond sparkle of stars in the night sky had always captivated Wilf, right from when he was a small boy, but never had they drawn his attention as strongly as they did now.
Out there in the black of space were trillions of stars, many of them so far off and so faint that they weren’t visible from earth even with the most high-powered telescope available. But alien worlds orbited many of those stars, home to all manner of strange and wonderful creatures.
His granddaughter was somewhere out there, travelling with the Doctor. Wilf prayed she’d come home safe.
