Author's Notes:
I got to thinking about the TARDIS's role in Donna's fate.

In the excitement of the whole adventure; in the rush to rescue worlds, beings… a single life… he forgets. He forgets that it is all my fault.

I see time even as he does… in some ways more clearly than he does. I knew what he did not. I liked her… but the worst thing was he liked her too. I watched them laugh and joke and sometimes even cry. I watched them become best friends and yet I saw how it was all to end and I could not change that and I dare not warn them. I would be the one to break his heart this time.

He forgot that I was the one who closed the doors. I locked Donna inside so the circle would be complete. I led her to do what needed to be done and in the end it cost her everything she had become. I sacrificed a human’s potential and a sacred friendship in order to save his life and the universe.

And he stands there, wet and miserable, bearing what he thinks is his burden when the reality is the burden is mine as well. He has forgotten what I did and and she has forgotten me and the worst thing of all is because they have forgotten neither one can forgive me.
