“D'you remember our second anniversary Leese? I proposed. You turned me down. Said we weren't ready. You wanted us to me a- wait what was it? Oh yeah- A perfect fairy tale romance. That was before the battle. Before I lost you.” Ianto spluttered, holding Lisa's cold hand as she slept.
It had been five months since the Battle of Canary Wharf. The team luckily hadn't found her yet. He thought Jack might have done. It was only a matter of time.
Talks with the cyber specialists were moving slowly. Going well, just slowly. A Japanese man was interested in helping, although he kept calling Lisa an 'it'. She isn't an 'it'. She is Lisa. His beautiful, strong, brave, intelligent Lisa.
“You've not lost me Ianto.” Lisa spluttered.
“Lisa! You're awake! Are you ok? In much pain? Do you need some-”
“Ianto. Ianto. I'm fine. Just tired.”
“I didn't wake you did I?”
“No. I-I was just-I'm not sleeping well.”
“Oh Lisa. I am so so sorry.”
“Ianto. Ianto please stop. This isn't you're fault.”
“But I can't help you.”
“You are. You're my Ianto” she smiled weakly as Ianto watched her intently “-how are things going?”
“Well-” he sighed “there is this one man who seems ok. Really interested. Good qualifications. Leese-I think he's the one.” Ianto smiled lovingly running his fingers lightly over her forehead.
“Are you sure?” Lisa asked hopefully.
“Yeah. He's going to help. You're going to be ok.” He reassured her.
“And we'll have our fairy tale?” she smiled.
“Of course we will” he smiled, placing a chaste kiss on her forehead.
“Ianto?” the American voice filled Ianto's head. He stepped back and place his finger to his ear.
“What are you doing?”
“I'm checking the generator sir” he said confidently.
“Oh. Okay. Well, we need you. Suzie's about to give an update on the glove.”
“Right away sir” he smiled at Lisa before shutting the door and locking her in.
“Our fairy tale” he sighed as he straightened his suit and walked through the corridors to the hub.
