1. A strong, coarse fabric of wool and cotton. 2. An incongruous mix.

He is like wool, she thinks. Scratchy and irritating yet at times soft and warm, comforting. Long-lived if cared for properly - resilient like the yards of it that adorn his neck.

And she is cotton. Adaptable; versatile. Steadfast. Sometimes bright, sometimes in the background (though not if she can help it).

Together, they are stronger: each supporting the other, the best of both fused. Loyalty, companionship, caring - bonds forming a durable weave. Laughter interlaced through danger, adventure.

A fabric not easily torn asunder.
