1. Chapter 1 [Reviews - 9] (3718 words)
This story has turned into a bit of an epic, maybe not so much in scale but rather in my attempts to get it finished. It eats at me when I can't find the time, and then taunts me when I do. Funny thing this writing bug.

Many thanks to the wonderful and patient readers on LJ. Gratitudes are many for WMR inspiring alt!Doctor tales, which inspired me to write this. Thanks to Sap1066 for superior stories I so need for a breath of fresh air. And Dark_Aegis for her time and work to help me on the latter portions of 'Try'.

Summary: An unexpected discovery on her alternate Earth opens wounds Rose only just started to close.

Note: March 3rd was my last post on this. Some times it feels longer, some times it feels much shorter. I won't make any promises, because I usually jinx myself when I do, but I will say I'm terribly excited about the development of the story... And, last but not least, thank you Sap1066 for much appreciated encouragement.

"Please! Let me go!" Rose begged, and strained against the agents hold on her. "He's hurting! Can't you see!"

Jones shot her a baleful glare, his eyes sharp as glass.

“Put him in now!” he roared at his men.

11. Chapter 11 [Reviews - 10] (4981 words)
Note: May 13th was my last post on this, so I guess I'm averaging about one chapter every two and a half months-- pretty sad. I'm almost done; part 12 is the chapter, what I've been building towards since I started this. I hope it comes off easier than one did.

Airwaves so jammed, his mind so stripped and raw, touched by all of it—
Movement. Someone was there with him, in the darkness…

“Rose?” His voice sounded so foreign to his ears; a baritone rasp seized by a dry throat.

He turned blind blue-gray gaze to the darkness, urgently searching. Shadowy shapes, depolarized and grainy, were floating wraths, slipping into synaptic clefts. Something or someone was moving in the dark-- “Who’s there?”

12. Chapter 12 [Reviews - 9] (1453 words)
Note: Okay, number one: I probably shouldn't be posting this considering that I'm totally stoned on cough syrup, but I planned to do it and I'm sticking to my guns. And yes, you read that header right... this thing is expanding to 13 parts, maybe 14. We'll see.

This part is a bit short, and I'm sorry. Honestly, I feel this is the actual ending to part 11. The ending I really wanted for that part. Hang in there...

And this was originally beta'd like ages ago and it's changed a bit since that work was done, so I guess this really isn't beta'd anymore. Sorry.
