Wow. Yeah, I bet that's exactly what he was thinking. I love all your descriptions. *faves*
This is very sad, but I bet that's what he was thinking...
This is a tremendously good first piece - your first fic, you say? I'm impressed. I particularly liked this: "But then he learned that no phoenix ever changed its face, and after that he lost interest." It says so much about the Doctor, and the little losses that he began piling up even that early in life, and the "for no other reason than because he could" tells me so much about his willfulness. The new hair itching, and the new hearts feeling different are other masterful touches. The emotional hurt you describe is very believable (it made me wince as I read it), but it's the shadings you put into his physical rebirth that, once again, truly impress me!
Author's Response: I\'ve written several fics before, but this is my first in this fandom, so I was kind of nervous about it, yeah. Thanks so much!
What a brilliant story!
Oh yes - so good, so real, so vivid. Really liked this.
That is a superb first story. Nice POV stance, and the ending is so poignant.
Excellent look at regeneration and really well written, too.
Very nicely done. I particularly like the phoenix reference, it's a connection a child would make that is charming and sad and very honest.
Your first? WOW. This is great, something that's going to resonate with me for a long time.
Yeah you could see that in his eyes.
