This fic is excellent. Stockholm Syndrome is something that really freaks me out, and thus I hate it and love it at the same time. Handled very well in this fic. :D Congrats!
Recommended on Calufrax, so even though the Yvonne/Ten pairing sounded horrible I thought I'd give this a try . . . and wow! Not at all what I was expecting, and amazingly wonderful. You've believably created a very interesting and complicated relationship, and I also loved what this story had to say about the Doctor's personality and how he would react to this kind of imprisonment. Very well done!
Came here from a rec on calufrax @ LJ. Excellent story--seriously twisted, to the point where it's *not* clear who's winning, and that's why I like it so much.
I read this fic a few days ago and I still can't get it out of my head. I'm reccing it to everyone I know.
What I love most about this fic is that there isn't a way to tell who's winning under these circumstances.
I'm here from Calufrax. Any fic that can make me simultaneously really mad at a character and more sympathetic to them than I was in the show must be doing something right. Your Yvonne is a world-class manipulator, which makes the confusion over who has the Stockholm syndrome all the more interesting.
That is just a whole bowl of different. Woah. The banter was excellent.
Impressive. Chilling, but impressive. Also a big fan of the Stokholm Synrome conversation. That's where it really roars to life.
And good title.
Yeah- she is quite the B- on wheels. How utterly awful for the Doctor. And the TARDIS- makes me sad.
*shudders*
Wonderful story.
I hate to see the Doctor so helpless, but at the same time I can\'t look away. My favorite line, hands down is his \"You\'d expect it to go that way\" in reference to the Stockholm syndrome. Fantastic. In my head, though, somewhere down the line, somehow, Torchwood makes the simplest of mistakes, and the Doctor has escaped before they even know it.
(sorry if you get this twice)

So, is this Genesis songfic or what? -- But intriguing. Had to read it twice to figure out if there was something more going on than what is ooing on. Yvonne is nasty and evil but you've just about convinced me that she'd work as a companion . . .
