I like your take on the Doctor and the Master, seeing their essential conflict as one between flexibility and rigidity. It's funny to think of the Master as being the one who, through his acceptance of hierarchies, was likely more concerned with following rules. Well done!
Author's Response: Thank you! I\'d never really thought about their relationship in depth before, so it took some working out. The narrow focus the Master had in season 3 (assuming the Doctor was his threat, destroying the fake gun parts) and just his name in general set up the idea that despite seeming chaotic and unpredictable, he was unable to work outside the \"rules\" he\'d made up/grown accustomed to. Glad you liked it :D!
