This was so wonderfully and exceptionally brilliant! I really do love the stories where Rose walks away from him because to me, it shows a display of empowerment for her that was sadly lacking in the series. You can’t honestly love someone, take all that they have to give and then expect them to accept that and stay and continue to take more of the same thing…nothing. You reflected that decision so perfectly as she held onto what strength she had to leave him by avoiding his gaze and refusing to be swayed by his attempt to ask her stay. She may have wavered when she hesitated to allow him time to complete that sentence, but I think she knew as everyone did, that whether there was more time or not, that the remainder of that sentence would always be left unsaid.
She made her decision a long time ago to stay with him forever but I think that your Rose made a much better and healthier one by leaving him when she did. Your supporting argument of him constantly leaving her behind when the Ninth Doctor always, almost desperately, tried to keep her by his side was the perfect contrast to illustrate why this wasn’t going to work out. As much as he showed her the universe, he needed to show her more of himself or simply let her go completely instead of pushing her away one moment and then pulling her back in the next. I know that this concept isn’t a very popular one with most Who fans, but I truly, truly applaud your writing this story. This was extremely well written as well as being thought out and definitely a new favorite for me. Thank you so much for writing it. :)
Author's Response: Thank you for you kind and well thought out review. I agree, Rose\'s decision here was healthier than what was shown in the show. The 10th doctor was a different man and that had bearing on their relationship. While he may have still had the same feelings for her as the 9th doctor he certainly didn\'t show them the same way.
