ahhh, how profound and simple. i like how the two of them find companionship and grounding in the ocean.

Author's Response: Thank you! I find the ocean very powerful and there\'s a timelessness there that I think would appeal to a Time Lord.

What a gorgeous story. Introspective but vibrantly alive. I love the metaphor, and I love to see how the Doctor changes, ebbing and flowing. The same but different. Just fantastic. Thanks for writing it.

Author's Response: What a lovely review. \"Introspective but vibrantly alive.\" That\'s one of the loveliest comments I\'ve ever received. And thank you for liking the metaphor. The Doctor does ebb and flow, doesn\'t he.

This was beautiful. I especially liked the way 11 spoke about his former self, and the gift-maybe-defense-mechanism that came with his regeneration. Also, was that my imagination, or were there some slight references to the Jack/Face of Boe question in there, as well? "They remind me of when I was young"--that reminded me of the Boeshane Peninsula, anyway!

Author's Response: I\'m very glad you liked it and particularly the bits you mentioned. And... that was not your imagination about the Face of Boe. You caught that little exchange between the two of them and interpreted it in the same spirit as it was written!

Here via Calufrax. This is simply lovely. I liked how you used the ocean as a metaphor for the everchanging-yet-still-the-same nature of the Doctor.

Author's Response: Thank you very much! While I haven\'t seen every Doctor, I\'ve seen over half, and he does seem to have something of the ever-changing and cyclical flow to him, in tune with his core personality.

This is truly remarkable, each and every line of it. You have beautifully sketched the differences, and similarities between the regenerations, you've shown the balance between them, and beautifully illustrated both the differences and similarities by paralleling them with the constant cycle of the ocean. It's carefully paced and infused with love and an understanding that the Doctor isn't infallible, but that he can become wiser. Simply gorgeous! *faves*

Author's Response: Thank you so much for your lovely review. You have caught so much of what I wanted to convey, and it gives me such pleasure to read that in your words. Thank you again!
