Aw, pity about no sequel but I loved the Flapper Liz idea and it's funny how the Brigadier can fit into 1922 as well as the 70's. Hope you and the others writer in the UNIT dating mind but I've been inspired by this a tad by the 'Elseworld' sort of idea and have a story in my mind I can call 'Torchwood: 1192'. Hopefully I'll try and write that as some point!
Author's Response: Thanks! And Torchwood 1192? I\'m sure no one will be in the least offended to have inspired more nonsense. If you let Johne know, he has command of the series and can add your fic to it (if eiter of you wish it.)
I know there's no sequel, and that you've got other things to be writing, but well, I'll say it anyway: sequel, please! ;D Very nice, loving the Liz-Brig dynamic and the idea of Liz as a gun-toting flapper just seems...right... And Miss Marple, just for that added touch! :D
Author's Response: Thanks! No, there is no sequel - this was my way of tuning into a punchline at the end. If anyone wants S7-ness, there\'s plenty of it here on my Teaspoon account... And, heh, Miss Marple was the point - John said her dating was every bit as random as UNIT\'s and so... It\'s just a shame I got the 1920s fixed in my end (and who could resist post-War Brig/Liz?) because it\'s a lot less obvious that she\'s equally out of place!
AHhhh!! There must be more of this!! The Brig and Liz snarking at each other all proper-like had me clapping my hands at the laptop screen in utter glee!
Author's Response: Aw. Thanks. Brig/Liz snark is fun. This story was much shorter but they wouldn\'t stop, as ever.
Miss Marple! Squee! That was brilliant. Liz and the Brig speaking like Jane Austen novels and Miss Marple showing up. I am eagerly awaiting a sequel! :D
Author's Response: Thank you. Erm. It is the 1920s, but never mind... :-)
Everyone, there IS NO SEQUEL.
:-D
*pouts, sulks, and thinks of ways to evilly oppress you into writing more...*
Author's Response: Oh, HELP!
This was brilliant. I'd love to see what happens to flapper!Liz at the Grange.
And "Next time"...?
Author's Response: Heh. One day, in about ten years when I have the time, maybe. :-)
Erm, yes, I don\'t know why I wrote that. I have no plans! (Mind, we could see if we can set DbyA on it and make a second crazy DbyA co-written series... *plots evilly*)
Noooo! You can't leave it there! What's odd about the bodies? Where's the Doctor gone off to? When are we going to see Liz dancing (preferably with the Brig) the Charleston?
We wants moar, my precious, yes, more...
Author's Response: Heh, thanks! No, no, that\'s IT. Well, until I\'ve killed off Nat and Tilly, finished The Devil is a Gentleman and about twenty other fics, including the crossovers...
