Here via Calufrax - what a wonderful multi-textured story! Absolutely love the ending - I was wondering how you would wrap it all up, and you hit just the right note. Thanks for writing!

I'm very cautious when it comes to cross-overs, so much so I’ll hardly read them. I /almost/ didn’t open this, and now I am so happy that I did. I’ve watched NCIS, Doctor Who, and Torchwood and you managed to merge and portray all these universes so well, if I didn’t know a lick about any of them, I’d have thought they were all the same thing. Fitz is no doubt my favourite companion and you made me care for him even more. Every time he’d see the doctor, you’d have me hoping and when he missed him I felt such sympathy for him. His transition into his new life was amazing, believable and not cliché in the slightest. I wasn’t expecting the Tony/Fitz thrown in there (really I’d never really thought about Tony /ever/ hitting for the other team, even with my slash goggles on 24/7) but you managed to pull not only their friendship, but their romance off beautifully. The mentions and meetings of Captain Jack Harkness and Ianto (and Tosh too). I love how you let Fitz be curious about his past-but not obsessed with it, obsessed with Sam, and Trix and Angie. Nice job.
Basically I loved this fic. It was absolutely brilliant- great job, really.
Imma go re-read it now > >

Yup. Don't know who Fitz is, never seen the 8th Doctor, no idea what NCIS is.

Loved it. Fantastic job.

Ooh, and I loved the part with Donna--
'"And I don't mean the street," she said, cutting in before he could reply. "City would be good. Country. Continent. Planet."

He felt his blood run cold. "Washington D.C.," he said slowly. "United States. North America. Earth."

She sighed. "You think I'm mad, don't you?"

"It depends," Fitz said, trying not to stare. "Is your next question going to be what the year is?"

The woman snapped her head up, her gaze focusing on him. "And if it is?"

Fitz took a deep breath. "Then I'd say it's 2008." He paused for a second. "And I'd ask how the Doctor's doing." '

WOW. This is absolutely wonderful. I don't think I've ever seen an episode of NCIS, but now I actually want to... except that I shall be devastated when there is nary a sign of Fitz. ;)
Believable character growth and resolution, lovely little extra crossovers and cameos. Bravo.

When I saw this I squealed so loudly I woke my roommate up :) I've been looking for it since I read the version you had on lj. This was great!! I loved the other version, and the parts you added made it even better!!

Author's Response: I\'m really glad that you enjoyed this expanded version. It\'s been eating my life for the past ten months, and I\'m thrilled that people are enjoying it.

I've only ever vaguely heard of NCIS, but it seems obvious that you're a loving fan of the series. I really enjoyed this story - what happens to Fitz is one of the reasons I wish that the BBC would acknowledge the books in the show.

Author's Response: I\'m really glad that you enjoyed the story even though you weren\'t familiar with NCIS.

I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed this story! I don't watch NCSI, I didn't read the books with Fitz. So you had one common point (8th Doctor) to really get me interested in the inital stages. You absolutely drew me in with the characters based on their own merit and I was thrilled at the myriad little crossovers woven in. Or at least, /I/ thought they were cross overs. ;) A Daniel with multi-colored hair and a Joe's Bar not to mention a Travis with an ATF team in Denver. *faints* And while not all of them got face time - you worked in Martha, Donna and had a good face to face with Torchwood. AND a believable resolution for Fitz coming to grips. Amazing! Thank you for writing this!

Author's Response: Oh, you have no idea how glad I am to hear that you enjoyed the story. I was really worried that it wouldn\'t catch very many people\'s attentions, what with featuring two canons that many DW fans aren\'t familiar with, so it\'s a huge relief to hear that it worked for someone who didn\'t already know all of the characters. Yes, they were meant to be mini-crossovers mixed in. ;-) I\'m thrilled that you picked up on some of them.
