I was tagging Calufrax recs and ran across this story, which I hadn't had time to read when the rec was posted -- but I'm *so* glad I made time to read it tonight. It's gorgeous.
Oh, just wonderful, with the last one the best of all! :D
Beautiful, and each relationship vignette rings so true. Ending with the TARDIS was perfect!
This is absolutely gorgeous. I especially love the SJS, Romana and the TARDIS ones.
A lovely little tale detailing the important relationships in our favourite character's life that he never acknowledges until it's too late.
Oh, this was just lovely. It's made me all teary, but in a good way. Thanks so much for sharing it.
Just beautiful -- I loved this.
Wow! I loved every bit of it, but especially the last two. The end of the second to last one, as the Master's body cools in his arms...it gave me chills. So many chills. And the bit with the TARDIS was simply beautiful.
This is really good and not as I expected (in a good way, I hope that's already clear...). Excellent!
I really like this, and for someone familiar with old and new who this is perfect. It just is.
Thanks for sharing.
Gorgeously written piece, full of wonderful insights on the Doctor and why he loves. #2, #3 and #4 were my favorites, but more because of the characters covered than because of anything about the writing. You had really nice turns of phrase throughout, and I especially liked this one: he is young and full of a mad desire to live that fairly spills from his eyes
Author's Response: *blushes and waves handkerchief about vaguely* Thank you!
Very nice choices of music, yes; I think that those songs are all eternally associated with DW for me now. The fic between them was beautiful. Stand outs are 2. (which very nearly made me cry; more so when I figured out what I think you were referencing with the song), 4. (probably), and 7. (because TARDIS!fic is a weak spot of mine). However, all were fantasic in their own ways.
Thanks for sharing!
Author's Response: Thanks muchly! Yeah, Brothers in Arms is a song that makes me cry every time I listen to it... :( Not sure why. And I think I\'ve discovered the secret to writing TARDIS!fic: do it at 1 in the morning when my thoughts are weirdly disjointed...
