Ouch! I love how you have him trying to figure out what the hell is going on. I've seen stories where he wasn't sure just what he feels for Rose before, but they never really rang true. I mean, he's over 900 years old - he's been around the block a time or two and he's certainly not stupid. However, this is felt *right*. You're explanation worked beautifully and his voice was very there throughout the story. He really takes the reader on that roller-coaster ride with him and I love his constantly coming back to the question of what love actually is to begin with and what the Dalek said about him. His concern over whether he was too much like a Dalek and was manipulating Rose the way it did was great. The other thing that really worked for me was the part where he's thinking about the fact that he knows a certain amount of flattery and so on is necessary to keep a woman happy. It didn't just sound like him, you could really hear all the other regenerations of the Doctor behind him in that. Something that you don't see a lot of in fic. I like you're Rose as well, although I wasn't sure about how quickly she shrugged off his not seeming okay at the end. That being said, her rationalizations worked very well. I could definitely 'hear' her, as it were. *g* Any chance that you're going to write more of this or a sequel? I'd *really* love to read it if you did.

Author's Response: Thanks ever so! I don't foresee writing more of this or adding a sequel as such, but I wouldn't be surprised if I get bitten by the Ninefic bug again. Thanks for your comments!

This is just absolutely stunning. Excellent look into both the Doctor and Rose's characters, and exploring the gulfs between them, as well as the places where the gaps are bridges. Just really utterly gorgeous.

Author's Response: Wow. Between this and your ff.net review, I'm going to be starry-eyed all day now. It means a lot -- a LOT -- to hear this from a fellow author whose work I admire. I'm so pleased to know that you enjoyed it!

Superb. A brilliant take on the Doctor's and Rose's feelings for each other. Funny how it takes a Dalek to bring it to the surface.

Author's Response: Thank you very much indeed -- and yes, it is ironic, isn't it? That's Rob Shearman's genius for you -- I would *never* have thought of a line like that coming out of a Dalek, but it worked!

Love it. This was just perfect. While I was watching "Dalek," the moment it said "the woman you love" my jaw dropped. I just couldn't believe they had actually said that in the series and I was wondering if someone would write a fic examining that scene in more detail. This was done perfectly. An absolutely gorgeous look inside the Doctor's mind and his emotions. Perfect.

Author's Response: I really didn't know if other folks had written post-ep stories that covered the Doctor and Rose's reactions, so I'm glad to hear that it hasn't been overdone and that you felt this was handled well. Thanks so much for the feedback!
