"It's not like that. I know what I'm doing, mum."
Oh my, he could be fifteen all over again. Very nicely done.
Love the story, the idea of the Doctor's mother, and the title.
I still don't buy the half-human, but I simply ADORE this fiction, it's lovely, my favourite part is when his mum talks about his cracking bad jokes and hoping everyone wants peace, it's so what a mum would say, the way he can't used her always feeling like home, what a GREAT addition as if the Doctor can truly fathom a home at all, this is sheer brilliance and makes me fall in love with Who and the Doctor all over again, thanks so much for uploading this here.
Your descriptions are absolutely gorgeous, and your turn of phrase equally so. I wasn't a fan of the half-human Doctor thing until I read this. Now I would embrace it. :)
The ability you have to create that little world in a parlour (I can hear it, can smell it, can feel the warmth of it and the look of the light through the window) is fantastic. This is a good story, a true one, no matter what canon (or canons) one believes in. Thanks for writing it.
That was very clever. Loved the idea of the Doctor having a mother. Of course, he had to have had one at some point. . .
This is one of those fics I secretly pretend is canon. I love the intersection of the fantastic and dangerous life the Doctor leads and his mother's cozy normality.
