I love Charley & I'm glad she got a chance to talk to the Doctor about the decision he made properly, instead of the dance that she is forced to do with Six these days. I think the parallels between the decisions of Eight & Ten were obvious too. Best of all, I liked the little things about this story. The jibes at Six and Charley asking for another hug. Great stuff. :D
Author's Response: I love the dance she\'s doing with Six. I find it very entertaining... but not entirely satisfying. Like you, there are some things I want said between her and Eight (or later!) Thank you so much for reading and your thoughtful feedback.
I'm not sure I'd say that the Doctor did the right thing with Donna (I haven't decided yet) but the similarities to Charley's situation are very interesting. Plus, I really like seeing stories that include Charley. She's one of my favorites.
Author's Response: I started out convinced that he did the wrong thing for Donna, but as I was writing, I became much more ambiguous. Charley telling the Doctor off for saving her life didn\'t feel true to me, but this did. Thanks for reviewing!
I finally finished "The Girl Who Never Was" just today, and the parallels between what he did with Charley and Donna were obvious. It's nice to see some exploration of that & some vindication that the Doctor did the right thing.
Author's Response: Thank you so much. The connection seemed blindingly obvious to me and I\'ve been surprised that nobody else commented on it. Thank you for the comment and for the validation that I\'m not crazy...
