Oh how sad, but it rings very true. Their expectations are so different, they can't even communicate them to each other.
I liked this very much. She's caught in her time period, in her experience -- but, in a way, so is he. This whole story, she's waiting for him to make a move -- court her, seduce her -- and she's always forced to make it, or to settle for what he can give. He's so much more than John Smith, and so much more painful to love.
This is beautiful and intense and achingly sad. Wonderful job!
This is lovely. It's too sad to be romantic, but that's what makes it so unique. They both want something they can't have.
This was very sad and very lovely too. Though it is hopeful in the sense that they are together and have the chace to possibly work though the pain they both have. I love how you wrote for Joan. She really felt right in this story.
Oh....so sad! I liked Joan, I felt sorry for her before, but this is making my heart break for her now.
Very, very lovely.
