So many things to love about this story - I love how you set the scene, the descriptive language was just so great; and how you introduced Eight was just so perfect; and how Sarah instantly picks up on someone watching her! Clyde and Sarah Jane's little interaction is just perfect too, and the end note is awesome (still such a child in your enthusiasm for life Sarah Jane!). Thank you for writing!
Lovely, charming story. I love that Sarah forgets about everything else when she's with the Doctor. That rings very true!
This is lovely and moving, all the more so now that Lis Sladen has passed on. This brief meeting under fireworks is officially part of my personal canon now.

This was lovely and moving - and I'm trying so hard not to weep over the loss of lovely Lis.
Here via Calufrax--this was adorable and just what I needed to read today.
Oh, really well written. Your description of the fireworks and Eight's POV were excellent & a very sweet story. :-D
Author's Response: Thanks sweetie :) Glad you enjoyed it.
All I can say is... AWW!
Question, though: I'm trying to figure out why there would be fireworks in the beginning of November. Perhaps it's something from the Sarah Jane Adventures? (I'm not familiar with that canon, unfortunately.)
Author's Response: Thank you very much! :) Oh, there\'s fireworks because it was supposed to be set on Bonfire Night. It\'s a holiday to celebrate the foiling of the Gunpowder Plot of the 5th of November in the UK. *nods* Hope that helped :)
Oh, the hug and whispers. Please, please let us know what it was. Him watching her and then her looking for him was so lovely.
Author's Response: *grins* Well, I didn\'t have a specific conversation in mind, so I\'ll let you decide what he said to her. Thanks for reading!
Oh, that was brilliant. Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant! :) I love the way this started, with Eight just wandering about, watching, observing those humans he's so immutably fond of. And then I love his thoughts about the kids, and how he assumes both Luke and Maria must be hers. That was another little detail I liked about this -- her behavior with Maria, which was just so spot-on, and affectionate, like they are in the show. Anyone observing them would think they're mother and daughter.
And then the whisper and cupping her cheeks and spinning her and kissing her hand! Love, love, love.
I don't know if you did it on purpose, but I remember Four saying orange jelly babies were his favorite, so I thought it was a nice little touch that he'd given her an orange one. Even though we don't know if he keeps his promise, I love the way this ended. I like a mystery, I like wondering about it. It gives the reader something to build on. It was hopeful and warm. *wraps it around shoulders like a blanket*
Okay, I guess I rambled on enough, yes? :D I thoroughly enjoyed this.
Author's Response: Hehe! Nothing wrong with a good ramble, it\'s payback for you constantly doing it to you :D Glad you think I got Sarah and Maria right, they were worrying me a bit. Oh, it\'s too tempting to turn Eight into the romantic hero! It just suits him so well. I was this close to having a white horse! ;) Actually I do remember that about the jelly babies but didn\'t at the time. Orange was just the first colour to pop into my head. That\'s adds a nice element to it though. Glad you enjoyed it, hun *huggs*
Author's Response: *it\'s payback for me constantly doing it to you *shakes head* It\'s too early
I really enjoyed reading this story. Can't wait to see what he promised her with the jelly baby. :D
Author's Response: Glad you enjoyed it. :) You and me both, hopefully you won\'t have too long to wait. Thanks for reading!
I loved your first Sarah-Jane piece, and this one is just as good. Jellybaby love! It's sweet and sticky, a bit childish, and utterly wonderful. *hugs*
Author's Response: Aw, thank you *huggs* Glad you like it! :)
*basks in the warm fuzzies* I certainly hope he keeps that promise. :) Thanks for this.
Author's Response: *grins* That would be telling, wouldn\'t it? Glad you like it, hun. *huggs*
