This is absolutely lovely! I don't know how I missed seeing it before!
Lovely little piece. Very moody, in a good way. I especially like the last paragraph or two, about the Lonely God and believing his own myths.
Came here from a rec on Calufrax over on LJ.
This was really interesting. I like the way you used the butterfly as a way to dissect the Doctor (past, present, and future).
Very good stuff!
Lovely story--I read it a while back. I like Freema's tattoo also. I hope you don't mind if I borrow you idea of having it come from the Doctor's home world.
I like the way this weaves in myths and omens and introspection. Cool.
Goodness gracious, this is such an awesome interpretation of the Doctor's different faces in the new show, and of how his companions interact with that. It makes me feel as though the companions can be classified based on whether they are Companions of the Lonely God, or the Oncoming Storm, and what that might mean for their interactions with him. Excellent excellent excellent.
Clever, and sad. An intellectual exercise made eminently readable by your elegant prose. I like the exploration you make of the differences between the two most recent - and, for my money, most powerful - of the Doctor's personas. It's also an interesting conceit to present him as aware of both. And the final sentences draws it together very neatly (not *too* neatly, which is something else entirely.) Actually, that final sentence begs to be examined and deconstructed in another of your pieces.
ohh am I first to review this???? why? this is a great chappie, really good and really well written is it a one shot or is there more?... Plz let there be more
