Very well done! Riveting story, and I really enjoyed it. Loved Jonah and the Doctor's interactions with the children in particular!
Astonishing... enthralling... everything that I would want from a story. Everything was so right. And you have introduced me to Thomas Merton - have had a wonderful time reading some of his words too. I have no idea if you are still about here... but you have given me food for thought, not just here... but out here in the real world too. Thank you.
This was really, really well done. Just lovely. Thank you!
This was such a wonderful story. I loved all the original characters, especially Ian and Jonah... just seeing the Doctor acting jealous over a couple six year old's attachment to Rose was beyond adorable. And that final scene, where they're standing in the future Arisbe, scattering the ashes, was perfect. Wonderfully, wonderfully done.
I am absolutely in love with this series. And this one in particular is my favorite, which surprises me, considering how there's no sex scenes. :P But seriously, I really admire your amazing ability to make me care about these new characters, all the while falling even more in love with the Doctor/Rose.
The growth of their relationship is perfectly paced, and while I do get depressed that this amount of depth will never be explored in canon...I DO love that authors like you have the imagination to write stories that capture the relationship we loved on screen, while making it even BETTER and more real.
Amazing, lovely, fan-freakin'-tastic. :D
Author's Response: I\'m so glad you enjoyed this. As I\'ve said before -- supporting characters bring a real depth to the show, and I like trying to do that as well. Thank you :)
Aww, I've just finished reading this one again for the second time too - it's so good! I love the original characters that you create almost as much as I love the Doctor and Rose. You're so talented! Can't wait for your next story in this series. x
Author's Response: Thank you!
just read chap one and have to say ... I loved the two prequels but this seems to become my favourite because .... oh it's SO them! I mean .. they don't settle down and where it was a nice "outtake" before, this is so much more them ^^
Author's Response: I hope you enjoy the rest, then!
perfect ending. although a part of me almost wanted them to take the little one with them...it would have broken his parents, but it would have been good for Rose
Author's Response: No, they couldn\'t have taken Jonah. It wouldn\'t have been right for any of them. But she\'ll see him again.
A fantastic ending to a great story...sorry to see it end. Will we get more adventures from your A/U?
Author's Response: Yes, absolutely.
I have consistently enjoyed this story, and no little part of that has been because you've allowed the relationship between Rose and the Doctor to grow (i.e. her understanding, when deciding not to tell anyone of Wilson's death, of what keeping secrets takes from one's own peace of mind, and what it's meant for the Doctor.) And of course you seamlessly connected that inner growth with the mystery of Arisbe and the lives, loves and challenges of the Trabane family. I may love other writers for headlong pacing or quickly-sketched realities. I have made you one of my favorites because you excel in deliberate pacing and thorough examination of whatever world and situation you create for our heroes.
Author's Response: I\'m blushing. Thank you so much for your kind words.
"... and I'm telling you to /run/."
Oh, this just makes it! Of this fic, that's my favourite bit. Do I detect a sequel?
Author's Response: Yes, there will be more in this series, absolutely.
This has been a magnificent reading experience, from start to finish. There are so many things I've loved about this story, but the imagery in this last chapter was particularly beautiful. Thank you for all of your work; it's been a true joy to read!
Author's Response: Thank you so much!
Good-bye Arisbe you will be missed. Perfect ending for a wonderful story. Thank you so much for sharing.
Author's Response: You\'re so welcome.
I just adore this series, the character development, the actual plots, the way you allow a reader to be intelligent. I haven't been reviewing because I tend to be a 'chunk' reader - I'll wait (patiently/impatiently) for several chapters before reading, and I'm so glad I waited for the last 6. It was a fantastic surprise to find them before work today!
The character of Emilia reminds me of myself - a bit snappish. And I can *so* relate to Rose's work in this one - I spend a lot of my time working in a pre-school where we have one child who always seems to be in his own world. I wonder if he's just 'receiving' too much to relate to the rest of us ... :)
Author's Response: Thanks. I\'m glad to provide a pleasant surprise today!
Loved the line from Rose about it Not being the first time. Stuffing his gob with food to avoid questions LOL typical Doc. He has a soft spot for innocent beings and if they are young even more so - lovely scenes.
Author's Response: He does cherish the innocent, particularly those who can\'t protect themselves. It\'s one of his more appealing qualities.
