After having grown up with Doctor Who in the background for my entire life (something surprisingly big was always referred to as a TARDIS in my house) and writing a fair bit of fiction, it seems inevitable that the two should eventually collide. And then I decided to put my stories where people other than my close friends ("for heaven's sake Emma, can you write something that isn't to do with Doctor Who?") could read them.

I'm particularly fond of writing about the Brigadier and/or Captain Jack, even though I can never get Jack to sound right, so expect more stories featuring those characters.
