|I am a novelist...at least I will be when my book gets published. Meanwhile, teaching is may day job (and how I love it!!). During my free time, I am a knitting, writing, lolita steam punk nerd, and proud of it. I am a devoted Whovian (perhaps obsessed). You can tell by my user name, I am also a Harry Potter fan. Ravenclaw for life!!!|
When I Write Fan Fiction:
I write Nine/Rose, Ten/Rose, Ten/Donna Friendship, Eleven/River, Maybe even some appearances of the Fourth and Eighth Doctors. I love to feature all my favorite companions in all their glory.
I like my stories to fit into the established cannon, but in such a way that they add significant subtext to the show.
What to expect:
Stand-alone stories, Series, and missing "episodes" full of my favorite things to write and read: Love, Friendship, Angst, and Fluff.
My favorite doctors:
The Fourth Doctor-With his mop of curly brown hair and wonderfully ridiculous scarf, The Fourth Doctor is every bit as clever as he claims to be, despite ample evidence otherwise. Whether he is being moody or silly, he is disarming and lovable. I loved it when he traveled with Romana I. They were hilarious together.
The Eighth Doctor- An old soul with a childlike innocence, he was the first Doctor to ever kiss a companion. He managed to win my heart, despite the cheesy television movie. I am pleased that the BBC seems to have accepted him into the Cannon with the 50th Anniversary specials.
The Ninth Doctor- He was the Doctor that made me fall in love with the series. Brooding, Intense, Dangerous, obviously in pain, and obviously in love with Rose Tyler (and quite possessive of her), Nine's time with the series was heartbreakingly brief...but that was what fanfiction is for.
Nine is also the only Doctor I fell in love with three times:
1) The moment when he grabbed Rose's hand and told her he could feel the turn of the universe (and the look on his face when he walked away from her).
2) The Father's day episode when he was willing to let the universe fall apart so that Rose could have her dad back.
3) The very last time he said "Rose Tyler" and the reverence with which he said it.
The Tenth Doctor- It took me a couple of episodes to warm up to Ten, but I adore him now (I've always had a weakness for brown eyed boys). Slim and a little bit foxy...The glasses, and the apparent oral fixation...Big brown eyes, dimples and impossible hair... I could go on.
It's not (just) his physical appearance that I love. He has all the intensity and passion of Nine, but now it's hidden and (dangerously) repressed by his gob, his wanderlust and his manic energy. He is cheeky, rude, and charming enough to get away with it.
He was literally created to love Rose (and he was hopelessly in love with her), but in my mind, fear and his feelings that he didn't deserve her kept him from expressing it properly.
This Doctor absolutely cannot be alone because he does not know when to stop. With out his companions to keep him in check, he will become a danger to himself and to all of time and space. Just below the surface is a darkness and a madness that he struggles to control. No matter what he says, he is NOT alright.
Ten and Rose is the reason I started reading who-fic. A sort of magic happens when they are together.
The Eleventh Doctor- This Doctor has the least mercy and the most pain, which makes him the most dangerous of them all (so far). At first glance, you'd never know. He has the youngest face of all his regenerations. Most of the time, he looks and behaves like an eleven year old kid, but without warning, his demeanor will switch to that of an 1100 year old man who USED TO have so much mercy. His previous incarnation would give you a warning before unleashing his fury. Eleven...you won't see it coming.
This Doctor is a self confessed liar, and seems to have embraced his darker side. On the other hand, he allowed the TARDIS to become domestic with Amy and Rory (I'm sure 9 would be horrified), and is captivated by River Song...perhaps the only other being in the universe that is just as dangerous as he is.
In the series, I couldn't get enough of Eleven and River. I love them together as much as I loved Ten and Rose. I also loved the TARDIS family. Bowties will always be cool! However, I share River's sentiment of shooting his hats. Especially that fez...though his fondness of them is enduring.
