1. Aftershock by vvj5 [Reviews - 6] (105 words)
Taking Leela's unlikely exit as a pattern ("I want to stay on Gallifrey with Andred!"), some AU exits for companions.

There could be quite a few. Some will be as silly as the drabble below, most will be longer and it will depend a lot on what I've been watching lately (and I'm just up to The Face of Evil). I hope that makes sense...

It marries up nicely with the romantic drabbles for the Doctor for Valentine's day and I didn't even think of that... Apologies for the length of this explanation.

***

Some time between The Three Doctors and Carnival of Monsters:

Jo Grant: “But I don’t want to go to Metebelis III! I want to stay on earth and marry Mike!”

2. Double Take by vvj5 [Reviews - 8] (919 words)
Another relatively obvious one:

The Android Invasion - Sarah Jane: "I want to stay on earth and marry Harry!"

3. Short Return by vvj5 [Reviews - 5] (103 words)
Zoe just didn't 'get' this AU, but she did make an attempt... Just a drabble.

The Invasion - Zoe: "I want to stay here and marry the Brigadier!"

4. A Garden on Gallifrey by vvj5 [Reviews - 6] (2006 words)
Arc of Infinity - Nyssa: "I hope you don't mind, Doctor, but I'd like to stay on Gallifrey and marry Damon."

(NB. Poor Damon. He's friends with Andred and he thinks he knows how these things go, so here's an AU where he somehow gets it right...)

5. Reprise by vvj5 [Reviews - 6] (104 words)
And now I'm extending a bad joke. Take me out and shoot me, all right...

Jo Grant: "I want to stay on earth and marry Sergeant Benton!"

6. Robophobia (And How To Cure It) by vvj5 [Reviews - 8] (2602 words)
The Robots of Death - Leela: This savage makes her own decisions (as ever) and Poul wonders how mad is a man with Robophobia.

(NB. Apologies, because this really isn't meant to be as flippant and simplistic about some matters as it probably seems... There are limitations to a series of short, odd AU romances).

7. Aliens Made Me Do It? by vvj5 [Reviews - 4] (698 words)
Liz, never travelling in the TARDIS, didn't have this option. That being the case, she used this AU for her own purposes. (Well, she would.)

*

The Ambassadors of Death - Liz Shaw: "I want to stay at the Space Centre and marry Professor Cornish!"

(And, yes, I am ashamed of myself.)

8. Of Tea and Etiquette (and Other Niceties) by vvj5 [Reviews - 4] (1586 words)
The Talons of Weng-Chiang:

In which Litefoot and Jago both propose to the fair Amazon Leela and our heroine must decide between them.

***

One note: In this AU, the Doctor and Leela go back to Litefoot's for tea and muffins (instead of eating them in the street) to allow this to happen. Which they ought to have done anyway. The tea and muffins, I mean.

9. Remnants by vvj5 [Reviews - 4] (7746 words)
Image of the Fendahl - Leela: "I want to stay here with the Tylers!" (Leela/Adam Colby)

*

Suddenly everyone's interested in Fetch Priory, now the trouble's over and Adam Colby and Leela have a lot of unwanted questions to answer. (And it's 1977 Torchwood vs UNIT over the ashes of the Priory, because after all, you can't blow up a 1970s scientifc establishment without involving UNIT.)

*

Sorry it got long, but it does have a proper story going on, y'know.

10. Princess, Android, Time Lady? by vvj5 [Reviews - 3] (1570 words)
The Androids of Tara: Romana, "I'm sorry, Reynart, but I still don't want to marry you!" Less Romana deciding to stay and more the Doctor making an understandable mistake. Whoops.
