I really shouldn't have, but I couldn't resist. Took a morning off and wrote this, the beginning of a short Donna reunion story. No updates till I finish my dissertation, I'm afraid, but if anyone's interested in hearing more, I'll pick it up in a month or so!

A long and crucial chapter, submitted to my readers with fear and trembling. I did mention dark, I did say grue, but . . . well, owing to a stupid mistake about how the ratings work (I thought they were for chapters, not the whole story) I'm concerned I've misled you. Please accept my apologies.

So do be warned. The next two chapters are grim. Really. It was much worse than I expected once I got it on paper, though (as promised) the awful bit is short. I've raised the rating to adult; let me know if that's a problem. And to those readers game enough to continue: don't worry! It's still the same story . . .

The same caution applies, with an additional warning for suicide (sort of). Warm thanks to all, and read with good hope. This one nearly killed me. The next chapters will be shorter, I promise.

Sorry for the delay, the next chapter is almost done too. I was so busy riding the Story Bus that I missed my stop. This chapter is not as violent as the previous two, but it's dark and rather sad. P.S. Okay, plot twists aside, I am worried that the revelations in this chapter don't make sense. If not, let me know and I'll fix it! And don't worry. I won't reveal anything you aren't supposed to know till next time . . .
