How the West Was Lost by vvj5 [Reviews - 27] Chapter or Story
1. Welcome to the (Not So) Wild West by vvj5 [Reviews - 6] (2740 words)
In which it is proved that the Doctor needs a companion, there are several cases of mistaken identity and the Brigadier joins the US law-keeping forces. After all, no use leaving it all to a hapless plumber and a pretty girl…
And, yes, this is a crossover with Carry on Cowboy. (It will all make sense in the end, I promise. Or possibly, but we'll have fun trying...)
For the purposes of the story all you need to know is that Jon Pertwee played the ill-fated sheriff Albert Earp, Angela Douglas (later Doris Lethbridge-Stewart) played Annie Oakley and there's also one Peter Butterworth as the doctor.
(So you see, someone had to do this...)
2. Tonight is the Night for... Card Tricks? by vvj5 [Reviews - 3] (2625 words)
In which the Doctor meets the Rumpo Kid, Marshall is reduced to drains, Annie is frustrated in her plans and the Brigadier engages in some fancy shootin'.
3. Infamy, Infamy... by vvj5 [Reviews - 1] (2623 words)
Plots and double plots... The Brigadier starts enforcing the law and the Doctor considers a life of crime.
4. You'd Make Some Man A Good Husband... by vvj5 [Reviews - 2] (2525 words)
Annie reveals her hand and the Brigadier makes an arrest. Shame it's the Doctor... Elsewhere, the plot thickens. Or something.
5. Men! They're Only Good For One Thing... by vvj5 [Reviews - 2] (2527 words)
The unlikeliest ‘Indian’ in this or any other reality finally makes an appearance, Annie bags her man, but misses her mark, Rumpo wants to see the Brigadier carried out in a coffin and Belle’s flaming mad. This can’t be good…
NB: Ch. 5 & 6 might be rated PG for general Carry On-ness and comic violence.
The last section of Ch4 has now been put here (which was its rightful place, before I played around with things). However, it's me, not deja vu.
6. I Seem To Have Got A Little Plastered by vvj5 [Reviews - 4] (2904 words)
Shootin’s fine. But coping with three women and an unlikely ‘Indian’? Not the Brigadier’s cup of tea. Meanwhile, the Doctor pursues a possible solution (or yet another hilarious case of mistaken identity) and Rumpo’s out to kill the Brigadier by fair means or foul.
7. We Don't Do Anything (We're British) by vvj5 [Reviews - 2] (3624 words)
The Brigadier heads for a showdown at high noon with Rumpo and the Doctor pursues an unlikely lead. Meanwhile, Annie tells the truth and Marshall finally understands what’s going on.
8. Fire At Will! by vvj5 [Reviews - 1] (2970 words)
Our heroes take a stand against the villain. It would be a whole lot better if more than one of them could shoot straight…
9. Epilogue: But Never With A Daffodil by vvj5 [Reviews - 6] (1948 words)
The good people of Stodge (and UNIT) move on. With three cameos. And an overlong explanatory note about Carry On films...
