Not Just a Drifter by Village_Mystic [Reviews - 0]
What Jack found out about Ianto’s Torchwood history in the pre-series flashback in Season 2 episode “Fragments” omitted the fact that Ianto had been Torchwood’s employee since shortly after he had been arrested for shoplifting… at the age of 16.
If you are coming to this series from one of the Teen or FR15 stories and are not an adult, you should be able to follow the series without reading any of the adult material due to relevant recaps and flashbacks (some have been sanitized).
If you are coming to this series from one of the non-warning stories rated Teen or FR15 but are actually an adult, feel free to go "la la la la" in your head if you try the rated M/warning stories through any parts of the text that "squick you." They were an experiment in visceral fiction writing that still would have lots of characterization and story.
All of the pre-Torchwood material and "missing scenes" material is designed to not contradict the first two seasons of TW.
10 has a guest appearance in the latest installment, "Defending Humanity." The first two teen-rated parts are posted, and I am considering what to do with the adult version of one of the chapters which needs a little more work before I post it, warnings and all.

Not Just a Drifter and Not Just a Key Makes Better with 3 by Village_Mystic [Reviews - 0]
Putting together all of the Teen-rated parts of my secret origin for Ianto Jones crossed over with some Buffy-verse characters.
Main characters: Ianto, Dawn Summers, Jack Harkness, The Master. Guest appearances by The Doctor and Gwen Cooper-Williams.
Ianto Jones has a double secret origin. He started as a Torchwood agent when he was 16 and only a few years later was compromised by the Master, who was exploring ways to not commit genocide in deference to his own feelings about the Doctor. Dawn Summers got pinned between the Master's experiments and a love for Ianto.
See "Considering Humanity" and "University Memory" for the back story dramatized at a teen level.
The Doctor tried to "fix" Ianto and was only partially successful. This story continues the "Not Just a Drifter" Series on a Teen-rated level and tries to also answer questions raised by TW Season 3. Why didn't the Doctor show up? TW Seasons 1 and 2 as you saw them.
Work in Progress.
