| This was lovely! I especially love that it's Vicki fic, since that's hard to find. I only wish we got to see what happens next! :) |

I loved this line It was time to stop thinking like Cressida, and start thinking like Vicki again. and how Vicki had compartmentalized her life into separate identities, but used both to her advantage in this situation. It was a fantastic moment in which she played on Korsten's assumptions about her as Cressida to gain the upper-hand by mentioning time travel and daleks and spaceships.
I also liked that she gave Korsten options and ways out of the situation, before following through on her plan -- and apologizing for it. It seemed like exactly the course of action the Doctor would take and was an excellent way to illustrate his influence on her.
And, since I think it's something everyone wonders about Vicki, I loved the tiny element of doubt at the end, the "what if" she had a working time machine...
This was a great story and I really enjoyed reading it! |

I loved that - really well written, and very in character, and the worrying idea of the First Doctor pausing to teach Vicki how to make gunpowder, heh. Vicki has too little fic about her and this is just great. Really.
Author's Response: He definitely would. Because (a) it's educational and scientific, and (b) in the presence of a blonde teenager the Doctor unfailingly loses such responsibility as he would otherwise have. |

| Firstly, this is excellent - and Vicki! Secondly, you just know at the end that the alien intruder has no chance whatsoever against Vicki in a state of mind like that, never mind the logic. :-D |
