Hi! I'm here from the CoT Reviews LJ community. First of all, congratulations on your nomination for Round Two of the Children of Time Awards.

We try to review all of the nominated stories in each round, and in today's post we've featured your story. Please feel free to stop by and look.

I don't think words can properly express how much I enjoyed this story. (Although I certainly did try.) Which is quite a shame, since it's all about language and the power of words - and you use them perfectly. I love what you've done with both the original story, and the idea of language, and how much it resonates (and how differently) for the Doctor and the Master.

Congratulations again, and good luck!

I knew that was the TARDIS translating the phone call for the viewers. Because them speaking English made no sense at all.

Great fic! The loss of the language substituting for the loss of the planet was a brilliant idea.

This is lovely, and the language and the thought processes, they all sound so right for the Master. Those last few lines gave me chills.

Marvelous! Your use of language is as elegant as your use of concepts from linguistics. The final lines about the Master's desire for a word for love of what you destroy are particularly chilling and perceptive.

I'm a communication geek - I actually teach the Sapir-Whorf hypothesis - and this play with language is absolutely delightful and not a little terrifying, coming from the Master!

That last sentiment is quite powerful. Very well done.
