Reviews For Diamond Sea

It wasn't this fandom - I've been lurking for a couple of cities now . . .

It's this fic - this series - they've convinced me to ship Eight/Rose. Like, more, guh, please!

Are you thinking of taking the Interactions Locations series up again in the future? I don't think I'm the only one who'd love to hear more of their story.

*favourites and waits*

Author's Response: I've taken quite a break for a number of reasons, foremost of which is my foray into original fiction. However, having completed my first novel, I've put it aside to stew for a while prior to editing and I've returned to the IL universe to see if I can't pick up where I left off. Thanks for the encouragement, it makes me want to write ;)

Unbelievable! Amazing! I read it for hours without stopping - just ... Gah.

How on Earth did I miss this one the first time around? I'll just read the others. :)

Author's Response: Hah! There's just such a large volume of fanfic out there in this fandom ... I've felt the same way about other people's fics. Although, there's a sort of joy in knowing that there are always going to be great things to discover on the internet :) I'm so glad you liked it, thanks for reviewing.

This is now officially one of my favorite fics. Beautifully done. There was a real, solid story to this, it sucked me right in. What I liked was that it wasn't just about "the relationship" it also had all these strange things going on, it had a solid plot, good characterization, some introspection and a the growing relationship between Rose and 8. And it was all perfectly balanced. That's rare. And wonderful to see. I'm off to read the next now.

Author's Response: Thanks for taking the time to let me know you enjoyed it. Much appreciated :)

Actually, I think this should be canon rather than 10.2 but that works too. Haha, in my own little world it is canon.

Author's Response: In my own little world it is too ;)

I wasn't sure about 8 and Rose but you've got me convinced. It's my second-favorite ship now.

Author's Response: Lol, glad to hear it! I admit it's a little unusual, but then what isn't in this fandom?

Here from the Children of Time Awards - congrats on your nomination. This was amazingly deep and complex, and I know from just one reading that I didn't grasp half of what was going on. Which, to my mind, is the mark of something extremely brilliant.

I loved seeing the Eighth Doctor - he felt utterly real to me, although I don't have much experience with him. I liked seeing his growing attachment to Rose, and how they slowly grew toward each other, in a very battle-scarred way. I loved the scene between them toward the end, when they slept together, drawing comfort from each other. Something about that scene was ten times more erotic and intimate than if they actually had done anything together.

Mostly, I'm just at a loss for appropriate words. Which is not a good thing, really - I've been writing reviews of the nominated fics, and I'll be including a review of this one in the next installment on my LJ (to be posted shortly).

Congrats again, and good luck!

Author's Response: Thank you, that's lovely to hear. I'm chuffed to be nominated, whatever happens. I appreciate the feedback :)

Wow! what a story! once i started reading I couldn't stop. I love the pairing of Rose and the eighth Doctor. the plot was so complex and had so many twists, it was brilliant. I'm defintly going to read the next in the seiries.

Author's Response: That's great to hear, thank you! I hope you enjoy The Sky On Fire :)

I just discovered this story. I love it. I buried myself in it today and read it all up -- and what a rich, many-course meal it was. Thank you. Beautiful, engrossing, surprising, and simply gorgeous.

Author's Response: Thank you so much for letting me know, I appreciate it :)

Brilliant and wrenching first chapter. Looking forward to some Rose/Eight interaction, as at first glance you know Eight, and you are definentally in Rose's head. Great stuff. Thanks, James.

Author's Response: Thanks for the feedback, I hope you enjoyed subsequent chapters :)

I'm a big fan of the Tenth Doctor, but I also love Eight, and I must say that this is one of the best that I've read so far. It's far more entertaining and addictive than many of the official books. Like I wrote, I love Ten, but you had me hoping that Rose would stay with Eight! Great job!

Now you're making me want to read more... I can't wait for the next story!

Author's Response: Thanks for reading and reviewing. Not sure if you'll come back and check this or not, but the next story has just started going up - The Sky On Fire.

I know this story is finished now, but I couldn't help but comment on it. It's fantastic, quite possibly one of the best stories Whofic has to offer. Your writing is so beautifully introspective and thoughtful, it was like reading a novel. The art is beautiful, and it's strange that more people haven't commented on this story. I absolutely love it.

Author's Response: Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment, I really appreciate it. If I was to make a guess about which stories get the most comments, I think it would have to do with the demographic of the majority of readers on whofic and other such sites ... that's not meant to be disrespectful, but I'm not sure many people come here for plot, lol. I'm glad you did :)

Wow. A wayward Google search for Trix fic and this is what I stumble across. Being a huge fan of the EDAs, I absolutely loved this. You pulled off the characterizations to a T. I can't say I've delved much into the world of Who fic, but you've given a depth and realism to the story that I'm sure is relatively rare. And as an avid role player who strives to do the same (with varying degrees of success), I can assure you that it's appreciated. :)

I can't think of a better way to have put off studying tonight. I'm looking forward to further installments in this series!

Author's Response: That's lovely to hear, especially from a fellow EDA reader. Thanks for taking the time to let me know you enjoyed reading - it makes the hours spent writing worthwhile. Cheers :)

This is my second time through this story (first time on LJ), and I think it was even better the second time around.

I just absolutely love it. I've never seen the 8th doctor, but I think your characterization is brilliant. Exciting plot, lovely portrayal of Rose... I can't wait to read more of your work!

Author's Response: Then I'm doubly flattered that you'd read it again! Thank you for your support, both on LJ and here. Reviews are love ;)
