| Brutal. And fascinating. This, my friend, is how canon should have gone -- instead of the Doctor-inna-birdcage scenario. This, I believe. This gets at the heart of so much of the series, including themes of trust and faith. Brava. Author's Response: This fic grew out of a need to see something other than the Doctor-inna-birdcage scenario. When the Master said "memory lane" my first throught was that he was going to go after the Doctor's memories. I was (a little bit) disappointed when he didn't! Such angst potential wasted... hence fic. Glad you've enjoyed it! :-) | |||

| I've got a pretty impressive soundtrack going for this story. "Power is Mine" by Lords of Acid and "Voodoo" by Godsmack. The next chapter, I've got Nine Inch Nails "Closer" all ready to go. I am a sick, sick human being. But then obviously, so are you ;) And your readers truly appreciate that. Author's Response: So, I was at work when you were posting these reviews. I would check my email in between tutoring the students, and sneak a peak at the review page to see what you'd said... and then I'd have to hide my big dorky grin behind a book to keep the students from wondering what their crazy tutor was doing! I didn't feel safe trying to reply at the time, because I would have sat there squeeing over the reviews and ignoring the class! In other words, you've made me very happy today. :-D (And oh yes, I'm a sick, sick author. And we're all sick, sick people for loving this stuff. But it's so good...) | |||

| This is wonderful. I love the flow of the story. Did Jack actually remove the compulisions or did he just take them into himself? I'd like to see more of this, please!!! Love ya Author's Response: Hmmm... I don't think Jack took the compulsions into himself, though that would have been an interesting way to take things. His submissive behavior when they were back in the TARDIS was more of a reaction to what had happened than anything else. | Beautiful and powerful - I absolutely love this story, and the way you're bringing out the trust between Jack and the Doctor, the way they're forced by circumstances to admit to levels of trust neither of them would ever acknowledge otherwise. Fantastic. Author's Response: I'm glad you like the amount trust that this story brought to light. | Wow. Very, very powerful, painful and scary, yet it so speaks to the love and trust that exists between Jack and the Doctor. Neither could do this without that deep love present. I'm so looking forward to seeing where this goes next. Author's Response: It's nice to hear that the love and trust between them shines through.
